Can I bring my own porta potty to a Southern Miss tailgate?

No outside porta potty is allowed at a Southern Miss tailgate. The University of Southern Mississippi tailgating policy says individuals, groups and businesses may not bring or arrange delivery of their own toilets, because the university supplies restrooms on game days. Off-campus parties in the 39401 and 39402 ZIPs are a different story.

Read the rule in the USM tailgating policy. Do not book a porta john for a campus lot.

For a watch party at a rental house or private lot near campus, one standard unit covers about 50 guests for 4 hours. Add a unit for every 4 when alcohol is served. Our backyard party guide walks through placement.

Do Hattiesburg events need a city permit?

A Hattiesburg event that uses city property, closes a street or needs police barricades needs a permit from the Hattiesburg Police Department. Permits must be filed at least 30 days before the event, with a $25 non-refundable fee and proof of liability insurance. Block parties have their own form.

Forms are on the City of Hattiesburg event and parade permit page. Book restrooms once the date is approved.

For public events, ADA 2010 Standards section 213.2 requires at least 5% of portable units in each cluster to be accessible, with a minimum of one. HUBfest drew about 30,000 people in 2026, which shows how fast counts add up. Run your numbers in the porta potty calculator.

Can you deliver to Camp Shelby or a Hattiesburg construction site?

Camp Shelby deliveries are possible, but the 134,000-acre training site south of Hattiesburg has armed security at every gate. The unit or contractor ordering must arrange gate access for our driver first. Regular Hattiesburg construction sites need no clearance, just a truck path within 30 feet.

For Camp Shelby, send the point of contact, the gate to use and the building or range number. Allow extra days for clearance. Gate hours are listed by the Mississippi National Guard.

On city jobsites, OSHA 1926.51 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. See construction porta potty rental for weekly service terms.

Where should units go in flood-prone parts of Hattiesburg?

Units in Hattiesburg should sit on high ground away from the Leaf and Bouie rivers. During the 2016 river floods, the city named areas east of James Street, Main Street and Highways 42 and 49 as its lowest-lying. A unit in standing water cannot be serviced and may tip.

Before you pick a spot near either river, check the USGS flood maps for the Leaf River at Hattiesburg.

When a flood or named storm watch is issued, we contact you to strap the unit down or pick it up. Storm cleanup crews can use storm recovery restrooms.

What Hattiesburg rules, roads and ground affect a rental?

The Lamar County side gets the same next-morning schedule and mileage charge. Do not rent a unit for a campus tailgate lot; rent only for private property off campus. Lock in your permit before you lock in restroom counts for a street or park event.

Porta potty questions from Hattiesburg renters

Can I get a porta potty in Hattiesburg today if I order this morning?

Sometimes, but do not count on it. Hattiesburg is about 80 miles from our yard, so most orders arrive the next morning. Order before 3 PM for next-day delivery.

We're renting a house near Hardy Street for game-day parties. Can we put a unit in the yard?

Yes, on private property. The university's ban on outside toilets covers campus tailgate areas, not private yards. Set it on flat ground near the street so the truck can reach it.

How many units for a 200-person block party in the Avenues that runs 5 hours?

200 guests over 4 hours works out to 5 units, plus 1 or 2 more if alcohol is served. Make at least one wheelchair-accessible and file the city block party permit 30 days ahead.

Does the Oak Grove side cost more than central Hattiesburg?

No. Oak Grove and West Hattiesburg are about the same distance as the rest of town, so the mileage charge is about the same. The quote shows the exact amount.

Our crew is renovating a building at Camp Shelby. What do you need from us?

The name and phone of your point of contact, the gate to use and the building or range number. Your contact must clear our driver ahead of time. Allow a few extra days.

Can you keep a unit at my Hattiesburg jobsite for three months?

Yes. Long-term portable toilet rental bills every 28 days from delivery and renew until you request pickup. Weekly service is included, and delivery and pickup is one charge of $95 to $150.
