You need a hand washing station when food is served or handled, when crews eat on site, or when children attend. OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(f) requires washing facilities at construction sites where workers handle harmful materials, and food vendors usually need running water for handwashing.
Our planning rule: 1 hand washing station for every 2 to 3 standard units at events with food. A single standard unit at a backyard party can get by with the built-in sanitizer, but guests like a real sink. Source: OSHA 1926.51.

How many hand washes does one station handle?
One two-sided hand washing station holds about 20 gallons of fresh water, enough for roughly 200 to 250 hand washes. A 150-guest event with a buffet usually needs 2 stations. Multi-day festivals need a refill visit or extra stations.
| Spec | Two-sided station (approximate) |
|---|---|
| Footprint | About 2 x 2 ft (wider with both basins) |
| Fresh water | About 20 gallons |
| Hand washes per fill | About 200–250 |
| Supplies | Soap, paper towels, towel bin |
| Hookups | None, foot pump |

Call now for today(206) 238-2473Is a separate station or a unit with a sink better?
A separate hand washing station is better when many people need to wash quickly, such as food lines and crews, because two people use it at once outside the restroom. A deluxe unit with a sink inside is better when you only have one or two restrooms and want a cleaner look.
A station placed where people exit the restroom row gets the most use. Keep it at least 10 feet from food prep. Compare the deluxe flushing unit with sink.
Questions people ask before they book
Does the station need a water hookup?
No. It has a fresh-water tank and a separate gray-water tank. We fill it before delivery and empty it at pickup or service.
Is there a separate delivery fee for the station?
Not when it comes with porta potties on the same order. One delivery and pickup fee covers everything on the truck.
Does it come with soap and paper towels?
Yes, plus a towel bin. Weekly service on long-term rentals restocks soap and towels and refills the water.
Can I rent just a hand washing station?
Yes. Food trucks, farm stands and painting crews often rent a station on its own, from $150 per event or $175 per 28 days.
